Eine bunte Sammlung von Videos ist nun zum 15. Mai online

(14.05.2020) Zum 15. Mai, dem Internationalen Tag der Kriegsdienstverweigerung, präsentieren Connection e.V. und die War Resisters‘ International heute auf dem gemeinsamen YouTube-Kanal Refuse to Kill zahlreiche Beiträge aus aller Welt. „Uns erreichten aus vielen Ländern Beiträge, die sich mit den unterschiedlichsten Aspekten der Kriegsdienstverweigerung beschäftigen, aus Nord- und Südamerika, aus Asien, aus Afrika, aus Europa“, so heute Rudi Friedrich von Connection e.V. „Es ist ein klares Bekenntnis gegen Krieg und Kriegsbeteiligung.“

Schwerpunkt des diesjährigen Internationalen Tag der Kriegsdienstverweigerung ist das Thema „Kriegsdienstverweigerung und Asyl“. Viele Flüchtlinge müssen ihre Herkunftsländer verlassen, um zwangsweiser Rekrutierung zu entgehen. Ihnen wird das Menschenrecht auf Kriegsdienstverweigerung verwehrt. Aber die Flucht vor Krieg und Zwangsrekrutierung wird in aller Regel nicht als Asylgrund gesehen. „Der Schutz von Menschen, die sich nicht am Krieg beteiligen wollen“, so Igor Seke für die War Resisters‘ International „wäre ein wichtiger und notwendiger Schritt gegen Krieg und Unterdrückung. Das zeigen die Beiträge von Kriegsdienstverweigerern, die selbst fliehen mussten.“
